The Huron County Airport just can't seem to get off the ground.
A source of controversy since it opened in the 1960s, the airport has been in the spotlight lately, but unfortunately for supporters, the news has not been about take-offs and landings.
First, county commissioner Tom Dunlap announced recently the board is actively working to sell the facility.
Next, an appeals court ruled the prior airport board was responsible for the improper and unauthorized destruction of public records at the airport. Now the lower court is determining the amount of damages, which will be paid from the airport's budget.
A story about the airport board was published recently in the Norwalk Reflector.
