A Norwalk woman previously indicted by a grand jury after being accused of selling heroin to a confidential informant has been arrested.

Samantha J. Reed, 21, of 15 Fruen St., was arrested Thursday evening on a Norwalk Municipal Court warrant issued after she allegedly failed to provide proof of six months of substance abuse counseling.

She was taken to the Huron County Jail, where she must serve 10 days.

Reed was arrested March 29 after a meth lab-related fire on Bouscay Avenue. Norwalk police were using search warrant related to the meth lab.

"She just happened to be there," Norwalk police Detective Sgt. Seth Fry said at the time. "She admitted to using the meth that was cooked at the location."

In April, Reed was formally charged with trafficking in heroin in connection with a Nov. 19 incident. The Norwalk Police Department coordinated the drug buy.

In July, Reed pleaded guilty to the felony in Huron County Common Pleas Court. However, Judge Jim Conway granted Reed intervention in lieu of conviction, meaning if Reed can abide by the terms of her three years’ probation, including substance abuse treatment, she won’t have the felony conviction on her criminal record.
