Life in prison for rapist

TNS Regional News • Jul 31, 2013 at 1:07 PM

A 28-year-old Akron man was sentenced Monday to life in prison after pleading guilty to rape and gross sexual imposition in a 2012 case involving a girl who was under the age of 13, authorities said.

Timothy Schussler of Oakdale Avenue will be eligible for his first hearing before the Ohio Parole Board in 2023, prosecutors said. He was sentenced immediately after entering his plea in the court of Summit County Common Pleas Judge Amy Corrigall Jones.

Schussler also was listed in the most serious sex offender category, Tier III, requiring lifetime registration of his address with the sheriff’s office.
