The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Norwalk Post is investigating a two-vehicle serious injury crash that occurred at 4:16 p.m. Thursday on Baseline Road at Swanger Road, in Bloominggrove Township, in Richland County.
Elijah Brown, 16, of Shiloh, was driving a 1993 Chevrolet 1500 truck. He was wearing his seat belt and was not injured in the crash. The vehicle was towed from the scene by A & M Towing. His passenger was Tristan Seaman, 16, of Greenwich. He was wearing his seatbelt and was not injured in the crash.
Moses Sensenig, 28, of Shiloh, was driving a horse drawn buggy. He had four passengers in the buggy: Joann Sensenig, 27; Larose Sensenig, 4; Bethany Sensenig, 2; Marilyn Sensenig, 7 months. All four passengers are from Shiloh. Mr. Sensenig and his four passengers were all ejected from the buggy. All five occupants were transported from the scene by Shiloh Volunteer Fire Department to Med Central Hospital in Mansfield with incapacitating injuries. Larose and Bethany were later transported to Akron Children’s Hospital.
Brown was traveling eastbound on Baseline Road and Sensenig was traveling southbound on Edwards Road. Sensenig pulled from the intersection to travel south onto Swanger Road. Sensenig pulled into the path of Brown and was struck. The buggy traveled off the east side of Swanger Road where all occupants were ejected. Brown came to rest in the middle of Baseline Road.
No charges have been filed and alcohol is not considered a factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
