A 22-year-old Oregon man will spend a large chunk of his life behind bars after pleading guilty to the rape of two young Conneaut sisters early last fall, according to reports.Ryan Elliott, of Lebanon, Ore., last month pleaded guilty to two counts of rape involving the young daughters of his girlfriend. One girl was three years old at the time, the other two years old, police said.
Elliott was sentenced to serve 25 years to life on each count by Ashtabula County Common Pleas Court Judge Gary Yost, according to court records. Elliott was initially charged with 12 counts of rape involving a victim less than 13 years of age, a first-degree felony, records show. He pleaded guilty to the two counts on May 16.
Elliott must serve at least 25 years in prison, according to court records. He will not be eligible for a parole hearing until 2037, according to the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections website. That span takes into account time Elliott spent in jail awaiting trial.
Police were contacted Oct. 14 by a relative of the victims’ mother who suspected a crime had been committed involving the children, officers said at the time. The children did not require any special medical attention, police said.
Elliott is being housed at the Lorain Correctional Institution, according to the ODRC website.
