Horses4Heroes horse program honors service members

Angela Strunk's father, William, grew up on a farm, taught her how to ride horses and served 26 years in the Ohio National Guard, including as a chief warrant officer.

These facts helped inspire Strunk to become affiliated with the Las Vegas-based Horses4Heroes program, which has introduced more than 5,000 servicemen and women to horses and horseback riding.

Strunk and her family are hosting an open house through Horses4Heroes from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at their farm, Whispering Pines Farm, 2257 Sand Hill Road, Monroeville. The event will feature riding demonstrations, barn tours, limited horseback riding for children and information about Horses4Heroes.
