Wreck sends woman, 2 small children to hospital

A woman and her two small children were sent to a hospital after a traffic accident.

Robert Malkowski, 33, of Elyria, was headed east on Cook Road in New London at 2:03 p.m. Thursday when he failed to yield at the Chenango Road intersection, according to Huron County Sheriff's Deputies.

His truck collided with a southbound vehicle driven by Shannon Draper, 29, of 2817 Chenango Road, Wakeman.

Draper and her two small children were taken to Fisher-Titus Medical Center by Firelands Ambulance with injuries.

Malkowski's vehicle sustained front end damage, while Draper's was heavily damaged all around.

Malkowski was charged with failure to yield at an intersection.

Deputies received multiple 9-1-1 calls about the accident.
