A Collins man accused of assaulting someone at a party is out of jail.

Lawrence W. Jackson, 42, of 2383 E. U.S. 20, is charged with felonious assault in connection with an incident Sunday at a rural Wakeman residence. If convicted, he faces two to eight years in prison.

"It looks like there was a party at that Wakeman address. The victim alleges he was jumped by two males," Norwalk Assistant Law Director Scott Christophel said.

The 25-year-old male reported being hit multiple times in the head.

"The assault resulted in serious physical harm to that male," Christophel said.

The victim was treated at Fisher-Titus Medical Center.

Jackson posted a $10,000 bond Monday at the Huron County Jail and was released from custody.
