Several individuals and organizations had the honor of receiving awards Saturday at the Milan Chamber of Commerce's 54th annual Banquet and Awards Program.

"It's awesome," former chamber president and Edison Birthplace trustee Don Gfell said. "This is probably one of the farthest reaching celebrations we've had in the Milan community in several years. There are people here from all over."

Awards handed out included those for Outstanding Youth Service, Business of the Year, Organization of the Year, Community Proud and Citizen of the Year.
