Police caught a male suspect reportedly near the scene of several vehicle break-ins this week.

Norwalk police officers responded to the area of North Pleasant and Jefferson streets at 3:12 a.m. Tuesday. Police had received the report of four or five male suspects entering people's vehicles a few minutes earlier.

Police located Derik S. Wright, 23, of 322 Castalia St., Bellevue, and charged him with theft, receiving stolen property, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of drug abuse instruments. He was transported to the Huron County Jail.

"Numerous items were located/recovered during the investigation, including four GPS units, a MP3 player and an iPod. Drug paraphernalia, drug abuse instruments and marijuana were also located in the vehicle," Skinner reported.

Police are continuing to seek the other suspects. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Norwalk Police Department at (419) 663-6780.
