Police arrested a suspected shoplifter just as he was leaving the Norwalk Walmart.

Three Norwalk police officers were puling up to the general merchandise doors at 3:14 p.m. Sunday when the suspect, Christopher D. Congelio, 44, of Cleveland, was leaving the store. Following the suspect was an asset protection officer who reported six minutes earlier seeing Congelio shoving a laptop computer down his pants.

"A laptop computer was recovered from the front of Christopher's pants. During a search (related) to the arrest, Christopher was also found to be in possession of Suboxone, a Schedule 3 drug," Officer Chris Kelley said in his report.

Suboxone is used to control moderate to acute chronic pain and in higher doses, it's used to treat addiction to drugs such as heroin, oxycodone, hydrocodone and morphine.

Congelio was charged with petty theft and possession of drugs and transported to the Huron County Jail. He was released after posting 10 percent of a $10,000 bond.
