Voters in May could be asked to renew a Monroeville Local Schools permanent improvement levy that's been in place since 1988.
The levy brings in about $80,000, Superintendent David Stubblebine said. School board members are considering placing the renewal request on the May ballot.
In November, voters approved a levy to pay for a new 30-year roof for the entire campus, 10 new classrooms to house grades pre-K to three, two new special education rooms, one new music/art room, offices for occupational and physical therapy services, new boys and girls restrooms, a 15-foot expansion of the cafeteria, including new floor and asbestos removal and an elevator to the second floor of the high school to make it handicapped-accessible.
Stubblebine said the permanent improvement levy is still needed for repairs to the older parts of the building.
A story about the school board's recent meeting was published in the Reflector.
