A Richland County man was sentenced Wednesday to a lock-down treatment facility for a heroin-related crime.
Joseph R. Barnett, 28, of Shiloh, was ordered to spend four to six months in a community-based corrections facility (CBCF), a form of prison which focuses on substance abuse treatment and education.
In November, he pleaded guilty to possession of heroin in exchange for prosecutors dismissing one count of tampering with evidence. Both felonies were for a March 8 incident.
As part of his three years of basic probation, Barnett must reimburse the Plymouth Police Department $40 to cover the cost of drug testing. He also was fined $250 and had his driver's license suspended for six months.
