Suspected heroin dealer pleads innocent

A Willard man accused of selling heroin is scheduled to for trial Dec. 20 in Huron County Common Pleas Court.

Jeffrey D. Collins, 39, of 2948 Neal Zick Road, Lot 31, is charged with trafficking in heroin. If convicted, he faces six to 12 months behind bars and a maximum fine of $2,500.

"The suspect has an extensive criminal history, including a couple burglary convictions, attempted escape and a DUI," Huron County Assistant Prosecutor Richard Woodruff said.

Collins must post a $10,000 bond before being released from the Huron County Jail. He is subject to random drug screens.
