A local motorist with a suspended license was arrested on an unrelated warrant while the Norwalk Police Department was investigating a two-vehicle collision Sunday morning.

Lisa L. Ojeda, 19, of 106 W. Washington St., hit the rear of the 1999 Pontiac Grand Am driven by Bruce C. Wilcox, 53, of 172 Whittlesey Ave., police said. The non-injury accident happened at 10:40 a.m. when Wilcox had slowed down and activated his right-turn signal to enter his driveway.

Ojeda, who was northbound, was following too closely, Officer Zach O'Neil said in his report, and hit the rear of the car. She was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance and driving with a suspended license.

O'Neil determined Ojeda was wanted on a contempt of court warrant issued through the Huron Police Department. She was charged with failure to pay her fines from an underage consumption conviction.

At the request of Huron police, Ojeda was transported to the Norwalk station, where she was released from custody upon posting bond.
