Maplehurst kindergartners sing for parents

Maplehurst Elementary kindergartners put on a program for parents this week.

Students in the classes taught by Jessica Enderle and Lindsay Pigman (who is substituting for Ann Walter) performed Thursday morning. Students in the other two kindergarten classes, taught by Lisa Berry and Julie Weyer, performed Wednesday morning.

The event was intended for both parents and replaced the "Doughnuts for Dad" and "Muffins for Mom" performances that had taken place in the fall and spring, respectively, in previous years.

After the children sang several songs, they and their special guests dined on doughnuts and juice.

A video of the children and local performer Jill James (the mother of kindergartner Emma Lindenberger) singing Bette Midler's "Wind Beneath My Wings" appears above.
