New courthouse drawing presented to commissioners

Cary Ashby • Mar 9, 2011 at 3:13 PM

Local businessman Stan Obrenovich presented an alternative design for the proposed Huron County Courthouse vestibule project at Tuesday's county commissioners' meeting.

Obrenovich paid $500 to have an architect do a drawing -- one the commissioners seemed to appreciate. Obrenovich said he liked how this new drawing keeps "the historical look" of the courthouse, extends the balcony -- making it possible to be used for parades and other events -- and how it uses space appropriately for handicapped accessibility.

"I'm offering that for your ideas. If you want to take advantage of it, work with it, go with it -- I don't care," he said.
