Wakeman to save money through spring clean up change

WAKEMAN - The village would save about $1,100 through a spring clean-up program in which residents would haul their trash to a dumpster by village hall. Last year, the village paid more than $1,800 to pick up trash in front of each resident's home, councilman Dave Wilson said.

Council voted unanimously Monday to set a tentative date of April 26 for the trash drop off.

The change in the spring clean up has nothing to do with the weekly trash pick up, which residents pay for.

Mayor Chris Hipp touted the money saving.
