A Greenwich man convicted of two sex offenses involving a 14-year-old New London girl failed to appear for his sentencing hearing this morning in Huron County Common Pleas Court.
Judge Jim Conway issued an arrest warrant for Brian R. Goodrich, 40, of 11 Maple St., who pleaded guilty April 3 to two counts of importuning. In exchange, the state dismissed a third charge.
New London Police Chief Mark Holden has said the offenses were reported in July, but happened from April through June. He declined to say how Goodrich knows the girl, citing the protection of the victim's identity.
Goodrich used to live on North Main Street in New London, Holden said, but "was ordered out of the house" in connection with the importuning charges. The defendant was released from the Huron County Jail after posting 10 percent of a $5,000 bond Jan. 24.
