Roasts and Toasts

Norwalk Reflector Staff • Oct 29, 2015 at 12:05 PM

Roast the Norwalk Post Office, a reader said. The post office has been going through extensive foundation work and had to remove its handicap ramp. It appears the ramp is done and they are just waiting on the railing. The reader says he misses the ramp and is encouraging the post office to speed up so he can buy his stamps.

Toast local residents Tom Root and his son, Travis, a cadet at the United States Air Force Academy, for their quick work last week saving the U.S. flag and a Missing In Action flag that had come off the poll in front in the Norwalk Post Office. Sheri Thomas, owner of Sheri's Coffee House in Norwalk, reported the two were sitting in her shop when the rope snapped on the flag poll. The two rushed across the street and with the help of an unidentified man, picked up the flags, folded them, and left them in lobby of the post office with a note explaining what happened.

Roast all of THE Ohio State University doubters and bashers out there. Ever since last year's 41-14 drubbing by Florida in the national championship game, ol' Brutus the Buckeye has been kicked around like a dog. So the Buckeyes had one bad game get over it. A good thumping of LSU tonight should take care of all of that.

Toast Everybody with the Norwalk Parks and Recreation Department involved with last week's Family First Night to ring in the new year. Nearly 1,000 area residents took part in the free night of entertainment, which included bounce houses, swimming and an open gym. Along with the activities, information on the dangers of alcohol, tobacco and drugs were available.
