It is truly a pleasure and honor for me to write this letter of endorsement for Charles Furey, who is running for the position of Huron County commissioner. Chuck is a Huron County native and in addition to being raised here he has spent his entire 38 year professional career based in Norwalk in the service of Huron County area residents for National City Bank.

I have known and dealt with Chuck on several different levels, which are very pertinent and closely line up to the skill sets that are important in a role such as Huron County commissioner. Chuck was in the banking industry, which is a service business, which means taking care of the constituents, customers and Huron County residents. As a banker he has worked to assist businesses succeed, expand, put together various financial packages that allowed people to buy homes, do renovations and recruit new business jobs to our community.

Chuck has given himself and his time to various organizations. I have served on the Norwalk Economic Development Corporation Board with Chuck and have seen first-hand examples of his assisting in economic development as job creator. In addition, I have worked with him in various service club roles and was a member of the Norwalk Rotary Club when Chuck served as president.

Chuck has been involved in multiple community programs and did not limit himself just to Rotary. Other Volunteer roles include an advisor of Junior Achievement, the Norwalk Jaycees, the Norwalk Area Chamber of Commerce and, most recently, as chairman of the Huron County Heart Walk in 2006.

Chuck has given of himself by his time and talents in various roles to serve our community and make it a better place to live, work and raise a family.

I believe that the community is going to be faced with some challenges over the next several years and they are very fortunate to have several qualified candidates. I believe that Chuck has the ideal skill set for being a county commissioner and being responsible for the oversight of our county organization.
