The Norwalk High School spring art show and band concert is Tuesday.
The art show will begin at 6 p.m. and will end at 9. The art department will be highlighting the Senior Shows of Alexandra Fresch, Haley Harvey, Josh Nickoli and Marissa Hassee.
Art mediums include pencil, watercolor, acrylics, pottery, fused glass and copper-enamel works. A feature of dimensional artwork, “I Have A Dream”, combines words, objects, and color inspired by the paintings of Todd Hainline, a 1983 alumnus and artist, living and working in Spain. The student artists scripted their hopes and dreams into their artwork.
The Norwalk High School bands will have their spring concert at 7:30 p.m. and will feature the Norwalk High School concert band, conducted by Sandy Bennett, and the Norwalk High School wind ensemble, conducted by Aaron Backes.
The concert band will play “Excerpts from the Firebird,” arranged by Jay Bocook, and “Wyndham Variations” by James Swearingen.
The wind ensemble will play “Celebrations” by Ed Huckeby, “Loch Lomond” by Frank Ticheli, and “Tecumseh” by Barry Kopetz.
In addition, both the concert band and wind ensemble will combine for the finale, “Glenn Miller in Concert.”
