GREENWICH - An Ashland County woman was charged with failure to control after a head-on collision Monday morning with a South Central school bus.

Patricia A. Peppard, 67, of Nova, was heading west on U.S. 224 when she attempted to stop and lost control on the icy road, Trooper Brian Gockstetter of the state Highway Patrol wrote in his report. The 2002 bus driven by Jennifer L. Stevens, 39, of 3050 Ohio 13, Greenwich, was stopped heading east with its red lights flashing, preparing to load students.

After losing control, Peppard went left of center and hit the bus head-on. Peppard's 1999 Jeep Cherokee then spun around and stopped in the road, heading east, the trooper said. North Central EMS transported Peppard to Fisher-Titus Medical Center with minor injuries.
