NEW LONDON The New London School District has started the search for a new superintendent following the surprise resignation of Jim Eibel Monday.

In a letter to the board, Eibel said, "The superintendent position has left me with a longing to be closer to students and teachers. I miss the daily interaction with students and desire to move to building level administration again."

In other business the board:

Approved Misty Gable head girls' track coach, Dawn Luedy head boys' track coach, Randy Ruggles varsity softball coach and Glen Morse varsity baseball coach.
