Catholic Charities and the Salvation Army will team up next Tuesday to hand out new hats and gloves to the people coming to eat at the soup kitchen from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The Salvation Army serves lunch each month on the last five working days of the month.
Deb Cox, office manager for the Salvation Army, said they normally serve from 60 to 80 people each day they host a soup kitchen.
"We're getting so many new people," she said.
Catholic Charities asked to attend and will bring the hats and gloves to pass out for people who need cold-weather gear. The group will ask people to complete a few questions about services provided by agencies in the area in return for the hats and gloves.
