Norwalk police arrested a Huron couple Saturday as part of an investigation by METRICH, the area multi-county drug task force.
Other arrests may be forthcoming, said Detective Sgt. Todd Temple.
Philip Rordan, 46, and Janet Worstall, 46, both of 2911 Huron-Avery Road in Huron, were stopped late Saturday morning after police witnessed a drug transaction in Norwalk.
Officers from Norwalk police, the sheriff departments of both Huron and Erie counties and the Huron County prosecutor’s office obtained a search warrant and raided the couple’s home Saturday afternoon. Police seized more than $2,000 in cash in the raid.
Temple said the investigation had been going on for two to three months and is continuing. He said most of the buys were made in Norwalk.
“We’re hoping to get additional people,” he said, adding numerous buys of “magic mushrooms” have been made in the METRICH investigation.
Both Rordan and Worstall were being held in jail awaiting a bond hearing at press time.
Temple said he anticipated charges of at least one third degree felony and several fourth degree felonies to be filed in Norwalk Municipal Court.
