A 14-year-old Norwalk bicyclist was hospitalized after a collision with a car Friday night at the intersection of South Norwalk and Ridge roads.
North Central EMS first transported bicyclist Dylan P. West, 14, of 237 E. Main St., to Fisher-Titus Medical Center with serious injuries. A LifeFlight helicopter later flew him to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland.
"It looks like he had internal injuries, maybe spine and head injuries," said Sgt. Mary Mack of the state Highway Patrol.
West's father said this morning his son, a Reflector carrier, was in the intensive care unit and sustained two broken collar bones and a punctured lung.
About 8 p.m., the boy was heading west on South Norwalk Road while Gregory R. Wilde, 25, of 18 Walnut St., was driving south on Ridge Road in a 1970 Chevrolet Nova, Mack said.
Alcohol is not considered a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation. No citation was immediately issued.
Mack said troopers still need to interview both the boy and Wilde. The assistant Norwalk post commander was unsure if any citations might be issued.
