Berlin library program

BERLIN HEIGHTS This library will offer a "Mason Jar Recipes" program from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Call (419) 588-2250 to register.

Milan library program

MILAN This library will offer a "Food Pyramid Steps" program from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday. Call (419) 499-4117 to register.

Local benefit

PLYMOUTH A benefit dinner for Greenwich resident Jim Hale will take place at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Plymouth American Legion. The dinner cost is $5. A 50-50 raffle will take place. At 6 p.m., there will be items auctioned off by Steve Bolen of Plymouth. From 8 to midnight, a band or deejay will perform. All proceeds will go toward Hale's medical expenses and ongoing rehabilitation.

Local dinner

SHILOH A fish and chicken dinner will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at American Legion Post 503 on Main Street in Shiloh. The dinner will feature a menu of fish or chicken, fries, coleslaw and dessert. Cost is $7 for adults, $3.50 for children and free for children under 3. The event is being sponsored by American Legion Auxiliary Unit 503.

Aircraft meeting

SANDUSKY The Experimental Aircraft Association's Chapter 50's annual skiplane fly-in will be from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Griffing-Sandusky Airport, 3115 Cleveland Road, Sandusky. Call (440) 258-1761 for details.

Master Gardeners awards event

PERU The Huron County Master Gardeners will hold their annual awards dinner at 6 p.m. Thursday at St. Alphonsis on Settlement Road.

Members are welcome to bring a guest. Volunteers may help with hall set-up at 5 p.m., with dinner to commence at 6 p.m.

Guest speaker Cheryl Herner will talk about "Butterflies as Bio-indicators" photos of beautiful Ohio butterflies and how their habits can provide scientific data useful to the gardener.
