BERLIN TOWNSHIP Three people sustained minor injuries after a Norwalk woman pulled into the path of a pickup truck Monday afternoon.

Allison M. Shumaker, 23, of 13307 Arlington Road, was charged with failure to yield the right of way at a stop sign after the collision with a 1995 Nissan pickup truck.

Shumaker stopped at the Wikel Road intersection stop sign after heading west on Huff Road. She then pulled into the path of the truck driven by Bradley J. Travis, 16, of 33 W. Church St., Apt. 2 Milan, Erie County Sheriff's Capt. Paul Sigsworth said.

Travis' truck hit the rear driver's side of Shumaker's 1993 Honda Civic, went off the left side of the road and hit a tree before going into a six-foot deep creek, Sigsworth said.

"The water was not that deep, but the creek was. The truck appeared to be totaled," he explained.

North Central EMS transported Travis and his two passengers, Charles J. Schnable, 16, of 6780 Mason Road, Berlin Heights, and Evan M. O'Lynn, 17, of Huron, to Firelands Regional Medical Center. They were treated and released.
