A Wakeman woman was sentenced Tuesday to 17 months in prison for having sex with a 15-year-old relative and was classified as a habitual sex offender.
Vickie Todd, 34, of 4467 Seminary St., will be required to register and update her address annually with the Huron County Sheriff’s Office for the next 20 years. On April 4, she pleaded guilty to an amended count of attempted sexual battery for the offense that happened about Jan. 1, 2006.
Todd threatened the victim to not disclose the offense, Huron County Common Pleas Judge Jim Conway said.
“Vickie Todd is the scariest kind of predator because she waits for her prey to be brought to her,” Huron County Assistant Prosecutor Dina Shenker said while reading a prepared statement.
Shenker said Todd got careless when she had sex with the boy on the living room floor at a friend’s house. She asked a witness who caught them in the act to not tell about what she saw, but the woman reported the incident to authorities.
A doctor at the District 5 Forensic Center in Mansfield said in his report that Todd suffers from bipolar disorder and is at “medium risk” to re-offend. “The defendant stated she was abused sexually as a child,” the report indicates.
The victim, in a prepared statement, requested Conway put Todd in prison “because she hurt me.”
