WELLINGTON — Four Monroeville students won honors at the student farm-themed art festival held at Bonnie Brae Farms in Wellington Memorial Day weekend.
Brittany Welch, Monroeville High School junior , won first place with her sculpture of a pig. Rachel Schaffer’s interpretation of American Gothis won her first place ribbon and Natalie Yeckley took honorbale mention. Laurie Replogle is the art instructopr at the high school.
Kindergartner Rudy Replogle won first place for Monroeville Elementary for his farm drawing. Brandi Goodwin teaches elementary art.
The art show drew contestants from Elyria, Keystone, New London,
Monroeville, Mapleton and Wellington districts.
The artwork including photography, sculpture and pottery, was displayed in a century-old barn at Bonnie Brae Farms, Quarry Road in Rochester Township.
Bonnie Brae Farms raises registered elk and sponsors a number of special events throughout the year.
