Shack should be torn down

I was reading last week's Norwalk council news. Residents spoke about the vacant house at 16 N. Pleasant St. If there have been complaints for a couple of years, why didn't the city and zoning inspector and health department condemn the house when the owner left or after she died. This needs to be done now. Is the estate settled? If not is there money to raze it. Who owns it now? Can the fire department burn it down for practice?
Those three gray and white shacks down by St. Mary's St. Drive Thru, need to be condemned. The old children's home on Benedict needs to be torn down. Since the bank owns it now due to the default on the loan, let them pay to have it torn down. I agree with Jean Hipp, if the Pleasant Street house was next to the mayor or council members it would probably be gone.
