Toast The Huron County Safety Council for having a fine demonstration Thursday of our area's emergency response network by bringing Life Flight, North Central EMS and Norwalk Fire Department's "Jaws of Life" to its monthly meeting. We take emergency workers for granted most of the time, but they always are there when we need them. They are like insurance we know we need to have it, but we hope we never want to use it.
Roast The accusation of misconduct by two unnamed off-duty Greenwich police officers when the subsequent investigation by Huron County Sheriff's Det. Sgt. Dane Howard found there was no evidence to prove anything. Couldn't the resources of both departments have been better spent? It's time now to get back to business for everybody involved.
Toast Mother Nature for bringing some much needed rain to our county this past week. It wasn't nearly enough rain, but we'll take what we can get in this drought. We all would like to see one or two "soakers" this week to help get the crops back on schedule and green up our grass. Also, the flowers could use a good shot of rain. Is that too much to ask?
Roast bad spelling, grammar, language and etiquette that ran rampant though the online comments made about the death of Michael D. Brant in a car crash on July 5. Since that time, a number of approximately 200 comments for just one of the three stories about his passing have been removed by the moderator because of foul language and threats made in the story comments on the Reflector Web site.
