Rec Olympics, that one special day for all young children to show off their talents in various activities, is coming soon. Before you know it will be here again. Mark your calendars for Feb. 25 and watch the Rec's proudest little athletes compete. Registration is currently being accepted. Fees are $7 members, $9 others, and $6 for additional children in the same household. T-shirts will be available for those who pre-register by Feb. 15.
Youth volleyball registration is now under way. Children in grades three through sixth are eligible to play. Participants will learn the basic techniques of volleyball to build upon, while having fun in a recreational atmosphere. Students are eligible if they are Norwalk city residents, Norwalk school district students or Ernsthausen members. Pre-registration cost is $24 and $30 for all late registration beginning Feb. 19.

The Ohio State University Extension office is excited to offer the next cooking class, 'Good Ideas for Potlucks and Family Reunions,' Feb. 13. If you are tired of toting the same old thing to these events, this class will give you great new ideas for delicious, simple, healthy dishes that travel well. This class will take place at the Veterans Memorial Lake Park clubhouse from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The cost is $6 per person.Register by Feb. 9.
Parents' Night Out is scheduled for Feb. 10. Parents, are you in need of a little alone time? Mark your calendar and let the Rec give you and your sweetheart a treat for Valentine's Day.
The event will be held from 5 to 10 p.m. Children ages 4 to 12 years are welcome to join us in a night of fun with friends, games, swimming, and more.
All children are asked to wear tennis shoes. Register by phone by Feb. 7.
Space is limited. Cost is $8 for each member, $11 for all others, and $5 for third child or more in same household.
