We appreciate the Norwalk Reflector for joining the Community Prevention Partners' campaign to counter substance use in the Norwalk area and for its donation of $1,100 for 100 home drug test kits. The unified front assembled in this community is sending a clear message that this community is committed to the safety and health of its residents, and is hostile to drug use. We are determined to empower our youth and parents to take this stand with us.
I wish everyone who has invested time, money and expertise to these efforts could see what we have seen in the classroom with the enthusiasm and epiphanies of the students in the LifeSkills Training substance use prevention program. Or that you could witness that gratitude and relief of a parent who has come into the office for a drug test kit and support that they are doing the right thing.
The Reflector was well represented at both the "You Have Power" parent meetings. I hope they relayed to you how heartening the commitment and passion of the parents and grandparents in attendance was.
We are making progress.
