More than half of you agree with the Supreme Court's decision to uphold an Alaska high school's censure of a student for displaying a banner across the street saying "Bong hits 4 Jesus."
Fifty-eight percent of respondents in the Reflector's most recent online poll checked the 'agree' column. Almost half of those 27 percent overall support students' free speech, but make an exception when it comes to drugs. A few more 31 percent overall said that the school had the right to punish the student for anything it wanted, since the school sanctioned the event.
Forty-two percent disagreed with the high court, either giving students broad rights or by saying students should only be punished for speech if it causes an actual disruption in the school.
