ATTICA - Who needs a time machine when there's the Oak Ridge Festival?
The annual event depicts life in the early 1800s and is set for Oct. 20 and 21. Times are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 20 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 21.
During the festival, dozens of teepees, some covered with animal hides and colorful blankets stand tall against the horizon.
Occupants are clad in period clothing and deep in conversation with intrigued visitors. The aroma of bacon, hot coffee, and open fires awakens your senses.
More than 160 artisans, craft vendors and living history participants from more than 14 states take part in the festival. Many display their wares and crafts in custom-built, rustic storefronts found throughout the scenic and naturally-shaded private woods.
The festival is located one mile north of Attica, off North Ohio 4. Parking is free. Adults are admitted for $5, seniors for $4 and admission is $3 for youngsters 8 to 12. Children 7 and under are admitted free.
