Norwalk City Council is inviting any residents who experienced flooding from Norwalk Creek in June 2006 to Tuesday night's council meeting to hear a report on options and suggestions to keep the problem from recurring.

Arcadis, Inc. conducted the study and a representative from the company will present a report to council at the regular meeting at 7:30 p.m.

"We're always going to have storms and there will be flooding for one reason or another," said Jim Sawyer, director of public works for the city. "From this study we can examine viable solutions, if any, for the city and the residents."

He said one objective of the study was to see what changes have occurred in the flood plain since 1978.

The study also determines the damage to the flood plain on Norwalk Creek last summer.

"It was at least a 100-year flood event," Sawyer said.

City council meets at the Norwalk Municipal Court, 45 N. Linwood Avenue.
