A Huron County grand jury indicted a Norwalk man accused of attempting to murder a co-worker during an East Ohio 61 stabbing.

Victor M. Macias-Aguirre, 39, of 66 Cline St., was charged with one count of attempted murder and two counts of felonious assault. He has been in custody in the Huron County Jail since the June 28 incident.

Macias-Aguirre is accused of using a large steak knife to stab the 28-year-old victim five times in the chest and once in the face, Huron County Prosecutor Russell Leffler said.

"He's lucky to be alive," Leffler added. "We don't have a good motive for what the heck was going on."

The victim was on life support after chest and abdomen surgery June 28. The man, who had been released from Fisher-Titus Medical Center, was flown to Toledo after showing signs of "significant pain" during a follow-up interview at the sheriff's office.

Macias-Aguirre and the victim worked for the same restaurant chain, but in different cities. They joined fellow employees for a meeting at the rural Norwalk home of their mutual employer when the incident occurred, Huron County Sheriff's Detective Sgt. Dane Howard said earlier.

In a separate case, Jeffrey M. Siron, 18, of Ashland, was charged with five counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. He is accused of victimizing the same 13-year-old boy between Aug. 5, 2006 and June 30, 2007, Leffler said.

Siron reportedly abused the boy before turning 18, but he was charged with incidents that happened when he was an adult, the prosecutor explained.

"There's another boy. We didn't charge that because they are misdemeanors," he added.

Others indicted Friday include:

Joshua D. Bartell, 27, of 3934 Walnut Road, Willard, on aggravated robbery, robbery, felonious assault and kidnapping in connection with a July 2 incident.

Chad M. Flanders, 32, of 2818 Section Line Road 30, Willard, on one count each of aggravated robbery, robbery, felonious assault and kidnapping and two counts of failure to comply with the order of a police officer in connection with a July 2 incident.

Leon E. Hunt, 30, of 2515 Collins Road, Collins, on failure to comply with the order of a police officer in connection with a June 22 incident.

George D. McMillion, 33, of 314 Crestwood Drive, Willard, on one count each of breaking and entering and possession of criminal tools in connection with a June 28 incident.

Thomas J. O'Donnell, 40, of 5144 N. U.S. 250, Lot 132, on three counts each of rape and gross sexual imposition. The indictment says he is accused of committing a "continuous course of criminal activity that started in Erie County and ended in Huron County" on July 1, 4 and 22.

Leffler said the July 1 incident occurred mostly in Erie County.

David R. Power, 62, of 213 W. Main St., on three counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and five counts of sexual battery. The indictment alleges all the incidents occurred from Jan. 5, 2005 through Jan. 1, 20007.

"We ended the (unlawful sexual conduct) crime when the boy turned 16," Leffler said, adding that the victim's age doesn't apply to the sexual battery charges.

Leffler said Power could face additional charges once authorities have processed his computer for possible pornographic materials. Norwalk police seized three computers and various pornographic materials when they used a search warrant at Power's home June 17.

Librado Ramos, 65, of 2948 Neal Zick Road, Lot 47, Willard, on two counts of felonious assault and one charge of disrupting public service in connection with a June 18 incident.

Justin R. Wellman, 29, of Bucyrus, on two counts of non-support of dependents in connection with incidents from July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2007.

Lorna L. Waldrup, 43, of 3 Wedgewood Drive, on insurance fraud in connection with an incident between June 2006 and Oct. 31, 2006.

Aguirre, Bartell, Flanders, O'Donnell Power, Ramos and Siron remain in custody at the Huron County Jail.
