New London boy, 17, guilty of vandalizing war monument

A second Huron County teenager was convicted Monday for his part in vandalizing the New London Civil War monument.

The 17-year-old New London boy pleaded guilty to theft, the juvenile court equivalent of a first-degree misdemeanor, the day his trial was going to begin. He received the same sentence as his co-defendant, a 17-year-old Wakeman boy, who pleaded guilty last week to theft and attempted vandalism for the July 23 incident.
