Celebrating America was the theme this week. The residents played trivia, sang songs and stretched to patriotic music in celebration of the Fourth of July.

On Wednesday, residents were invited to celebrate the Fourth with friends at Gaymont Nursing Center. Eight residents took the trip to Gaymont to watch the parade and then enjoy a picnic lunch. Those attending liked the parade and commented on their great lunch.

Residents also traveled to Sandusky to the Fish Company and enjoyed a delicious perch sandwich. Then, the group toured around the bay and the city of Sandusky.

Coffee corner is held daily in the morning to begin the day. This week some of the activities during this time included talking about the news, playing Fourth of July trivia, singing Americana songs and reading horoscopes. The wonderful kitchen staff also supplies residents with a different snack each morning with coffee, tea or hot chocolate.

Residents celebrated National Fried Chicken Day during happy hour with the dietary department supplying good old fashioned fried chicken. Rita Steiber provided wonderful entertainment.

Other activities included morning and afternoon stretches, Life Enhancement class, bingo, art and crafts with Vera, Garden Club, Walking Club and Rosary. Visitors during the week included Larry Russell who played the piano while his friends helped residents sing along to the music; Iverna Fallecker who entertained on the organ and Bob Deidrick, who provided Sunday blessings.
