A Norwalk man reportedly broke into a North Pleasant Street home early Sunday morning.
Mark A. Noller Jr., 31, most recently of 11 Rule St., is accused of stealing $50, a cell phone and "a bunch of food" during the burglary, Norwalk Assistant Law Director T. Douglas Clifford said.
The bedroom and kitchen screens had been damaged, but Noller apparently entered the home through the back screen door, he said. The prosecutor declined to say if anyone was home.
Authorities are unsure if Noller knew the victim.
"This may be a crime of opportunity," Clifford said.
Police found a trail of food from the victim's backyard heading east toward Newton Street, where it ended. Officers confiscated glass jars of pickles and tomato sauce to process for possible fingerprints, Clifford said.
