NORWALK Lucille Marie (Sandwisch) Bahnsen, 82, of Norwalk, died Monday at the home of her daughter in Minford.

She was born March 8, 1925 in Woodville to the late Paul and Dora (Obermeyer) Sandwisch.

She attended Capital University in Columbus. She married Donald L. Bahnsen of Lemoyne Oct. 28, 1945 and came to Norwalk in 1951. She was employed by the J.C. Penney Company for more than 30 years retiring in 1986.

She was a member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Norwalk, where she had been a member of Evening Guild, Altar Guild, and participated in Christian Service Day. From 1988 to 2002 she volunteered at the American Lung Association and in 1996 was honored with the Ed Ruff Community Service Award. She enjoyed crocheting and candy making.

She is survived by her children, Judith and Rolland Berner of Norwalk, Roger and Marlene Bahnsen of Elkhart, Ind., Karen and Mark Albright of Westminster, Md., Janet and David Bukiewicz of Minford and Patricia and Chris Deeb of Boston Heights; 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and a niece, nephew, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald L. Bahnsen; a sister, Donna Mae in 1985; and a grandson, Matthew Deeb in 1995.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of services at noon Friday at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 243 Benedict Ave. Norwalk. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk, has assisted the family with arrangements.
