WILLARD — Christmas in the air at Willard Memorial Library. During the Christmas holiday season the library will be holding a raffle to help raise funds for programming in the youth services department. Patrons may purchase on raffle ticket for $1 or 6 tickets for $5. A drawing to win a staff cookbook, a DVD player, or a beautiful book tote and book will be held on Friday.

With rising gas prices, try shopping for Christmas from your computer. Not only will you save on gas but you will also help support the library. Shop online at the Willard Library’s Cyber Mall at http://willardlibrary.oplin.org/mall.htm.

Through Friday, the library will be offering their patrons a chance to reduce or eliminate extended use fees and help the Willard food bank. “Food For Fees” allows a patron to bring in one non-perishable food item (not expired) for each overdue item returned. Also, one non-perishable food item will forgive $1 for each extended use fee dollar owed. (Copy fees, faxing, laminating, or lost item fees not included). Only the following non-perishable food items will be accepted from the list provided to the library by the Food Bank: canned fruit, especially fruit cocktail; canned tuna fish; mushroom soup; noodles; peanut butter; strawberry jam or grape jelly; boxed gelatin; canned green beans or corn.

Willard Memorial Library will be closed Monday and Dec. 25 for Christmas and January 1 for New Year’s. The library will close at 5 p.m. Dec. 31 for New Year’s Eve.
