Jevon Lambright of East Townsend Boy Scout Troop 242 built four all-weather picnic tables for Christie Lane as his Eagle Scout project this fall.

He obtained grant funding through the Firelands Electric Community Foundation to pay for the plastic lumber used. The plastic lumber was manufactured by EPS Plastic Lumber in Elgin, Ill., out of 20 percent to 25 percent recycled post-consumer plastic milk containers. Two of the tables will be used by kids on the Christie Lane School playground and two will be used by adults in the new memorial patio/garden behind Christie Lane Industries.
