Gregg Kromer, of Norwalk, won the Reflector's annual Sweet Sixteen contest by picking Florida to win Monday night's national championship game.
Kromer, a supervisor at CertainTeed in Avery, said he was rooting for Ohio State to win, but after Florida's 84-75 victory admitted the $500 in Chamber cash was a nice consolation prize.
Kromer, decked out in Ohio State garb when he collected his prize Tuesday, said "You gotta show loyalty ... but you knew Florida was going to win."
Beginner's luck might have helped Kromer, who said this was the first time he had entered the Sweet Sixteen contest. He has two children, one college graduate and the other attending class at Ashland University, and said he has no plans for his winnings yet.
