JUST LIKE OLD TIMES - Erf family deserves credit for contributions

Last week I mentioned Lowell Ashton Erf, the son of Professor Oscar Erf of The Ohio State University. Lowell became as well known (or better known in his day) as his father for his research to improve health.
Lowell was born in Columbus in 1908. His mother, Alice Ashton Erf, died in 1914 leaving Lowell to be raised by his father and several housekeepers. He spent a good deal of his childhood with relatives on Yingling Road west of Monroeville. After graduating from Columbus North High School he received his medical degree from The Ohio State University's School of Medicine.
