I've never been one to watch many regular programs on television.
To me, "Family Ties" and "The Cosby Show" were the ones to watch when I was growing up.
From time to time I would catch "Married With Children" which sometimes would provide a laugh or two.
Here are some of the things I know about television today.
It sounds like shows such as "Dancing With the Stars" and "American Idol" are very popular. Never watched either of them. I do know former football players Emmitt Smith and Jerry Rice were on the show. Proud moments for them, I'm sure.
ESPN's Tony Kornheiser is a big fan of "American Idol," constantly plugging it on "PTI."
I'm not big into reality shows. I've said this before reality shows are television at the lowest common denominator, but I don't want to bash reality TV too bad because everyone here at the Reflector loves them.
The History Channel and Sci-Fi Network are on at our house a bit too much.
The History Channel is usually covering something that's been gone over and over again. That channel always has someone trying to find Noah's Ark or claiming aliens live outside Lexington, Ky.
Sci-Fi is the king of bad movies. I also hear people say "Battlestar Galactica" is the best show on television. The best thing about Sci-Fi is "Ghost Hunters." This show consists of whiny 30-somethings searching for ghosts throughout America. They actually visit cool places which adds to the show's appeal.
I've seen "Extreme Makeover" the show that makes everyone cry.
Then there are "Heroes" and "Grey's Anatomy."
These are two programs that must be watched at our home, though I don't remember making this rule.
Here's the thing about "Heroes" and "Grey's Anatomy." Nothing ever happens. I've missed 75 percent of the "Heroes" episodes and still know exactly what is going on.
And nothing happens on "Grey's Anatomy" either. They can stretch this thing out forever. I swear I watched one in September and that same storyline was continuing in March.

I'm not sure what is going on at Ticketmaster, but I saw Rush tickets were going on sale for a show at the Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati in April. The show was slated for Sept. 1. But as I write this, the show is not up on the Web site. I'll keep everyone posted.
