Huron County adopts comprehensive land use plan

A two-year planning process has culminated with formal approval of the new Huron County Comprehensive Land Use Plan by the Huron County Commissioners.

The commissioners had served on a county-wide steering committee that has guided the discussion and shaped the recommendations included in the 110-page document, which was reviewed and approved by the County Planning Commission earlier this year. The steering committee also included representatives and officials from Huron County Development Council, the county engineer, auditor, treasurer, Soil and Water Conservation District, County Emergency Management Agency, County Health Department, Erie Basin RC&D, Northern Ohio Rural Water, Fisher-Titus Medical Center, the county's three cities and many of its villages and townships.
