We have talked about having a "Green" house, garden and in last week's Reflector even a "green" child. But just when you thought the term couldn't be branded on anything else, I have another one for you.
Yes, this week on the daytime soap operas, it's a "green" wedding. I will not comment on the fact the "Days of our Lives" bride is getting married for the 10th time. Instead I will focus on the wedding, being billed by television directors as a "green environmentally conscious" wedding.
The lucky couple sent its invitations on recycled paper, and used recycled content envelopes. The clothing for the bride and groom will be natural fibers including the groom's hemp suit.
Soy candles will be use to light the tables and decorations will feature natural, local flavor. Actually, using local flowers and greenery in season has become a very popular request with brides. Importing flowers or using greenhouse blooms can be costly for the pocketbook and the environment.
The food for this event will be organic. From soup to wedding cake, it will be as natural as possible. The catering will be done by Harrison Ford's son, Ben Ford. He owns a popular restaurant, Ford's Filling Station. This eatery features local, organically grown foods.
I haven't heard yet, about how the newly weds will fit their transportation to the "Green" theme. Will they walk to the reception? Will they ride a bike? Use a hybrid car? Let me know if you see the show ...
